My Apps (Part 1)

One of my favorite things to do is talk about iPhone and iPod Touch apps with people, compare and contrast them, and hopefully share a few new ones with each other that we haven’t seen before. So I’m going to just drive right into it and go over most of the apps I have on my Ipod at this time page by page.

So here is my home page in order of appearance.

Pandora- My number one app and for good reason. The Pandora app is one of the main reasons I would like to buy an Iphone (or a MiFi) just to be able to have Pandora on wherever I am. I have at least 25 stations on my account, and Pandora’s own suggested genre stations are great.  I put on the New Age Ambient every night to help myself fall asleep. And also its fun having a little serendipity in your life, and those stations allow for that. If you get an Ipod or Iphone, you need to get the Pandora app. 5/5

File Sharing- A cool little app that does exactly what I wanted to do when I bought it. It lets me load documents into it, and be able to view them, and then share them with other computers. It works with almost every kind of file format, including .PDF, which is especially important to me, because I have a lot of PDF’s I need to have with me at all times.4/5

Bejeweled 2- One of the best purchases I have ever made. This awesome game has helped me kill plenty down time and many sleepless hours. But I must warn you, playing Bejeweled 2 before going to sleep can (and in my case, frequently) causes Bejeweled dreams to occur. So take that into consideration when making the purchase heh. 4.8/5

Echofon (Formerly Twitterfon)- One thing I can tell you about Twitter, and the kind of experience one gets out of the service, is very dependent on the client the person uses. I personally have 4 or 5 clients throughout my life for getting my Twitter feed, and for the ipod I chose this app. There are Twitter clients in the App Store that have much more polish, themes, and graphics, but I just want a simple layout of my updates, with the ability to post an update of my own easily. And that is exactly what Echofon is. 4.5/5

PandoraBox- This App is a must have for anyone with an iPhone or iPod. It is an app price tracker, like the popular AppSniper, but it is free. PandoraBox has saved me over 30 at least on apps. And not on just random apps, applications that I stipulated that wanted within PandoraBox with its “Favorites” list. With the way applications go on sale, sometimes only for a few hours, it is a very smart move to have PandoraBox on your iPhone or iPod Touch. 4.8/5

Crash Kart- One of my favorite Kart Racer apps out there. It has really good controls and response when turning the device. It has the classic characters from the original Crash Bandicoot games. Also it has a great amount of re-playability which is something lacking in a lot of games. The price was well worth it when I bought it, and it has even been lowered now (bought it before I downloaded PandoraBox :P ). 4/5

Facebook (3.0)- Lets put it this way. I am a Facebook fan, and I have not been to the Facebook browser version in… I have no idea. Whenever I browse Facebook it is with this app. its slick, fast, has great notifications, and best of all in the 3.0 version allows for landscape mode. Thank you Facebook. 5/5

AIM- I like AIM, have a lot of friends on it. Not crazy about the app its self, but it is important that I have it. I do like the push notification features that came out with the 3.0 Firmware Apple put out. But the biggest problem is the advertisements and lack of landscape mode. I am strongly considering purchasing Beejive. But AIM’s price is right, at Free. 2.5/5
