My Apps (Part 2)

My second page. (Game Heavy)

Guitar chords- This app is great for a guitar player obviously, even a really experienced player with years of theory and practice will forget a few chords. This is just a very easy and convenient way to look up a chord on the go. And yes this app is free so you can’t go wrong. 4/5

What’s On?- this is a TV programing schedule app that works very well. I have Comcast cable and live in the bay area and have found it to be as reliable as the on screen menu Comcast provides. Can’t do anything fancy, can’t activate a DVR or anything but hey… It’s free. 4/5

Fieldrunners- this is THE iPhone game. Hands down. I don’t wanna hear about Rolando, Enigmo, Flight Control or any of the Tap Tap Revenge games, it’s all about Fieldrunners. This game has eliminated all time spent waiting. Go ahead, be on the next Bart train if your heart desires, this is a perfect time for me to knock out a few dozen levels on my on going game. If you haven’t played this game yet, you don’t know what your missing. 5/5

Mini Piano- turns your screen into a small piano. Pretty fun, nice thing to show off to people who are not familiar with the iPod. There are some piano apps with a little more to them, like the ability to go up and down octaves. But this app is cool because it’s the only one that I have tried that plays all the notes as I run my finger across the screen quickly. and I enjoy that :) 3.5/5

F5S Hockey- a great game again for showing off some of the potential of the iPod, especially when you play in multiplayer mode (that really blows some people’s minds).
The game is pretty responsive in multiplayer mode but only if you have a good proximity to the network router you are on. 3.5/5

iShoot- if anyone reading this has played Pocket Tanks, then you will like this game. You are one of four tanks (default) battling to the death with a variety of awesome weapons. Now while there is a version of pocket tanks available in the app store for a few dollars more, iShoot offers multiplayer mode and better visuals during gameplay. 4/5

Flixter- A very handy application that gives movie movie times and information on movies out. Very similar to the Fandango app. It does exactly what I want it to do, and that is provide accurate show times for movies at many different theaters around the Bay Area, and it is so accurate that I never think twice about it being incorrect, and I can think that way because it has yet to be wrong. 3.8/5

Lets Golf!- I love this game for many reasons. One being the graphics, they are so good I can safely say they are as good as if not better than any Nintendo 64 game I have ever played. With all the graphic processing that this game requires, it does run a little slow on the first generation iPod Touch, the 2nd gen it plays very well, and on the brand new 3rd generation iPod Touch, it flat out flies. Second, there is a huge amount of re-playability, and original game play, in fact I have had the game for over 2 months and have still not beaten all the levels and unlocked all the extras. Third, and most importantly, its just flat out fun. The only complaint I have about the game is when playing a VS mode against the computer, you have to sit and watch him set up and take his shot, I would love it if they just gave me a score to beat instead of wasting my battery. With that being said… 4.5/5

StoneLoops!- Zuma meets The Flintstones. Got it? well its much more than than. The creators of this game took their time creating it and it shows. Along with the normal game play, there are bonus levels, a story line, and an extra point grab at the end of each level you complete. The theme is very “stone age”, with dinosaurs and primitive housing structures. One thing that really sets this game apart from every other game out there is the game play is nearly endless on classic mode which is great. Then when you beat it, there is another version of the same game, so the already long play time is doubled. If you like Zuma, you will find this game even better! 4.3/5

Bounce On- This game is the closest game I could find to the Mario platformer games. You are a ball that has fallen out of someones pocket and are trying to return to them. You battle your way through a forest, an industrial city, a swamp, and also a desert against many evil enemies. To move left and right you simply tilt the device left or right, and to jump, you simply tap the screen. The developers of this game has not only made a great game, but has also a great commitment to bettering and improving the game. When I purchased the game, there were two worlds to play through, since then they have added two more worlds and are planning to release two more for a total of six worlds. 4.5/5

KrazyKart- This app is another kart racing game (which I’m sure you guessed by it’s name)<. It is very fast paced ( maybe even too fast), especially in compairison with Crash Kart. But aside from the over accelerated gameplay (which you do get used to) this game has many great selling points. Like the previous app, I also view this game as the closest thing to a Mario franchise game, Mario Kart. It has speed boosts, star power, and yes even the awesome lightning attack. It has a good ammount of race tracks and most of them are quite interactive. And like the Mario Kart we all love, it has multiplayer! That was the deciding factor on my purchase of this game. The multiplayer is great, it is over wi-fi, not Bluetooth, so that creates some problems, but more often than not, I'm in places with wi-fi. So if that's you... Buy. 4/5/p>

Dance Dance Revolution- If you are a fan of the DDR arcade game then you will enjoy this app. I have only stepped on the arcade version a handfull of times myself, but as far as I remember this app captures the intensity of the game very well. The music is the same catchy stuff that, to me, is impossible to dance to. 3.8/5

Need For Speed Underground- This is the game you buy if you want to show your friends, what an iPhone or iPod touch can do. the graphics and gameplay is amazing, top notch even. Nice long races on long maps which is great. There are only a few different race types but that is true of most all racing games though. The game as a whole is a little short and doesn’t have the best replayability, but if you want a game to play and show off to your friends, this is the game you want. 4.7/5
